Rachael and Josh

Pretty Place for a Wedding!
Rachael and Josh were married today at the YMCA camp chapel known as Pretty Place.

The morning ceremony was bright and beautiful. Pretty Place is know to couples around North and South Carolina for it's majestic beauty for wedding ceremonies. It is know to photographers across the Carolina's for it's difficulty level. The beauty of the mountains behind the bride and groom are usually VERY bright making for highly back lit shots. If you don't know what you are doing, you end up with photos of gorgeous distant mountains with silhouettes getting married in the foreground. You have to know how to light everything correctly for shots that have the WOW factor!

The wedding went perfectly and the weather was great.

Josh and the groomsmen look at the wonderful view from Pretty Place.

The reception was at Connestee Falls country club. Only about 8 miles from Pretty Place.

They missed each other's mouth with the cake. Ooops!

Rachael looking glamorous and ready to start the honeymoon!

Options Magazine

Being a Photographer for Upstate Options Magazine, I get to photograph a wide variety of subjects. This month's magazine just came out and here are some of my shots:

I followed this lady all day from the beauty parlor, to the makeup, to the wedding boutique.
We had a great time!

Not all my subjects are alive as you can see!

This one was in my studio. Rose is a beautiful lady who owns her own nail salon in Greer.

These two were a wonderful! Their business is a really neat concept. Check it out!
Jelly Beans has the coolest hair cut concept around. The little car he is in actually makes sounds and vibrates.

SPC David L. Leimbach

From time to time, the US Army Honor Guard asks me to do photography for KIA funerals.

SPC David L. Leimbach was engaged in a fight for his life in Bala Baluk, Afghanistan. While on patrol with the Unit he was attached to, the 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment (Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition), 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 42nd Infantry Division (Mechanized), New York Army National Guard, he and his fellow troopers came under attack by small arms and RPG fire. That day he became the last South Carolinian to join the ranks of those Honored on Memorial Day 2008.
SPC Leimbach was a member of B Company, 1st Battalion, 118th Infantry (MECH), 218th Brigade, South Carolina Army National Guard, Fountain Inn, S.C. SPC Leimbach had already completed a tour of duty with B/1/118th INF in May and had volunteered to stay in Afghanistan through October to help the 2/101st CAV. He had just gotten married on Jan. 9 when he was home on leave.

I tried to honor him in images.... Click here for gallery.

Barto Family Photos

I enjoyed walking around the park today taking candid and posed photos of the Barto Family.
Family portraits can be fun! My studio is great, but sometimes just letting the kiddos play and capturing the fun is even better.
Formal poses or candid fun ones, it just depends on what the customer is looking for!

The little ones were always on the move and made it a challenge to capture, but I love this walking away one...
