Guardian from on high.

I got to do some aerial photography today! Guardian Building Products World Headquarters wanted a shot of their location. What made this particularly difficult was how close it was to GSP, (Greenville Spartanburg International Airport). We had to ask control for special permission to orbit the building so close to an active runway. Air Traffic Control was in a good mood. And we were between scheduled airline flights! I got the shots and loved the ride. I learned to fly when I was 17.

I'll crop it down later. The red buildings belong to a pet boarding company. (Does red calm dogs down?)
Landing time!

Kelly Smith Bridal Photos

Kelly Smith is getting married at Spiegel Farms. Kelly is a tomboy, but it is hard to tell. All of her friends are in shock that she is having such a graceful, beautiful wedding.
Spiegal Farms is a HUGE wedding venue, and it has MANY beautiful places to photograph on its acres of land. Our Bridal shoot lasted 5 hours. Yes, FIVE! I didn't mind, it was all so beautiful!!!
Spiegel Farms is a beautiful place!

25th Wedding Anniversary

I enjoyed photographing Randy and Allison Kellum's 25th Wedding Anniversary party. It was a suprise party for them put on by Allison's sister.

It was held at Grace United Methodist Church, where they were married 25 years ago!

Total Darkness, A Flash of Light

My sister, Berta Kirchman, is a sponsored athlete for PMI. (Pigeon Mountain Industries). PMI sent her a bunch of new equipment. I got to photograph her using it all for the PMI Catalog. Imagine trying to fill a large cave with light. I learned a lot! I used multiple SB800 wireless speedlights to fill the cave and add texture. My sis rocks!

In 1989, during the National Speleological Society's Vertical Section Annual Rope Climbing Contest, Berta smashed the long standing Women's World Record with a time of 4:16.3. In 1995, she broke her own record with a time of 4:07.1, and almost a decade later, her record still stands.
She has made unrivaled rope ascents out of deep limestone shafts in Mexico and a 1,700 foot rope climb out of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado. Berta is also a member of the Rappel Safety Team at West Virginia's Bridge Day Festival.

She shares her love for rope work and the ethics of her mentors by passing her knowledge and skill to others.

When she is not in training or caving, Berta can be found volunteering at regional and national rope climbing contests or assisting with SRT and cave rescue courses.

I am so proud of her...

Greenville Downtown Fireworks

The Greenville SC Independence Day Fireworks display was great this year. We had a wonderful view. I set the family up by the Reedy River, had a nice picnic spread, and set up my tripod and camera.
I love seeing all those people lined up on the bridge.

Jana and Jim Curry Wedding

I photographed Jana and Jim Curry's wedding at Walnut Lane Bed and Breakfast in Lyman, SC. It was lovely. She is a school teacher and some of her students came for the ceremony. This couple really seem to be in love. They were so cute!

The flower girl was adorable.

Lindsay Watson SDC

Today I photographed Lindsey, the owner and head instructor at Southern Dance Connection. She is a beautiful lady inside and out. We went over to Keith's place to shoot after some nice shots at her dance studio. http://www.southerndanceconnection.com/

We had fun trying to replicate the SDC logo. I think she finally nailed the pose after torturing her with a dozen attempts.

Jennifer and Darell Engagement Photos

Jennifer and Darell are engaged! I went to Greenville with them and shot them in the
Rock Quarry Garden. It was beautiful!!! Jennifer had a bit of a sunburn to start with.
I beleive their wedding is on February 14th, 2008. I get to be their wedding photographer. Yeah! I can't wait.

Softball Game

The Guardian Knights softball team wanted some team photos, so here I am out of my studio following the little white ball.

I suprised myself with my timing. I nailed most of the shots. It's amazing how scary the faces are in mid-batting swing.

Center for Developmental Services

Center for Developmental Services asked me to photograph their fundraising carnival. It was a pleasure to help them out. Here is the link. I hope I get to do it again in 08'.

I was asked to follow this cute little one for the entire event. He was a sweety. He didn't want to leave the mouse!
