Tilie and Kevin are enagaged

Tilie and Kevin are enagaged! Tilie and Kevin wanted their enagagement session to start at Grace Studio. We photographed for about half an hour and then headed for beautiful Furman University. The weather was bright and sunny! (The curse of a photographer!) We strolled to the Japanse gardens and then down to the Furman clock tower taking photos all along the way. Tilie and Kevin were fun and full of life. Their wedding is only a month or so away!

Katie and Drew Engagement Shoot at Paris Mountain

Katie and Drew met me at Paris Mountain State Park for their engagement photo session. We had bad luck with the weather the weekend before, so we were determined to enjoy the park today. Katie and Drew first took us to the bridge where he proposed. I love getting shots like that. A photo of the couple right where they first started there journey toward being together forever…I am such a romantic! Be when he proposed there last year, it looked very different. It had snowed! We then walked to the outdoor amphitheater and played around the trees. Peek a boo seems so silly as an adult, but if I make you do it for a photo, it creates such wonderful laughter and smiles. Yum. We finally hiked over to the dam. A beautiful shady spot for some more romantic photos. I torchered them by asking them not to kiss for a few minutes. They were so close, but no kiss yet please…finally I let them make up for lost time. The photos were wonderful. Such a look into each others eyes. Love, passion, gosh I love my job.

Misty's Cliffs at Glassy Bridal Shoot

Misty grew up in Upstate South Carolina. As a child, she would hike with her parents to the top of Glassy Mountain and have a picnic lunch. Through the years, she spent many hours up on the cliffs with her family enjoying the mountain view. Later, the area was developed into a residential community. For her bridal shoot, I surprised her by taking her into the Cliffs at Glassy Mountain Residential Community and to the top of the mountain. Here, near the Cliffs Chapel, we did a photo shoot that was memorable for it’s beauty and for it’s emotional connection to Misty. Her whole family came and watched and joined in on the memories from the years past to now, the beginning of a whole new life with her husband to be, Robert.

Snow in SC is a rare thing...

As a photographer, I look for the rare shot. Snow in SC is a rare thing. Do I stay home with my wife and child, safe and warm? No. I can’t resist the urge to do some winter weather photography! Here are a few shots from downtown Greenville SC in the middle of a snow storm that has shut down every school in the area.

Not only did she get first place in the Color Photogenic contest, but she also went on to win first place at the pageant! Now she is off to the Little Miss South Carolina Pageant, and from there, Miss Teen South Carolina!
We are wishing her luck in her steady climb to the top. Good luck Nikki!

Shareen and Chad

Would you believe Shareen and Chad met online at Match.com? She was in CA, he lives in AZ. Now they are together in AZ and truly in love. They were a really joyful, fun couple to photograph. We started with some getting ready photos at the Marriott, then moved to the park in downtown Greenville. After some fun there with the wedding party, we moved back to the Marriott for the ceremony and reception. In Middle Eastern culture, many brides and grooms get married on paper shortly after they are engaged, but culturally are still considered engaged until they have a wedding reception. Shareen and Chad were married on paper on May 23, 2009. Both the bride and groom wear their engagement rings / wedding bands on their right hand while they are engaged. During the wedding ceremony, they switch the rings from the right hand to the left hand signifying marriage. Both the bride and groom are asked if they accept the marriage proposal after Quran (The Holy Book for Muslims)is read and a short sermon is given. Once they each accept, the ceremony is complete.

After the ceremony and dinner, the place rocked to 80s, 90s and Egyptian dance music. What a fun time!
I even brought my portable studio and set it up in the corner. Many couples had their photos taken with our backdrop and stuio lights.

Natasha and Pierce

Natasha and Pierce spent some time in Downtown Greer, next to the Davenport. The Davenport is a wonderful little wedding venue in Greer, SC.
These two should be models!
Natasha just didn't want to smile much, she has new braces on.
We started out having fun in the men's wear shop next to the Davenport! They let us play in their display window...

Chrissy and Kai

Chrissy and Kai met a few months back. They wanted a few shots together. We did a few studio shots and then went and walked through Greer a bit. A bit cold, but I don't think they noticed much. They really do seem to be into each other....
