Natasha and Pierce

Natasha and Pierce spent some time in Downtown Greer, next to the Davenport. The Davenport is a wonderful little wedding venue in Greer, SC.
These two should be models!
Natasha just didn't want to smile much, she has new braces on.
We started out having fun in the men's wear shop next to the Davenport! They let us play in their display window...

Chrissy and Kai

Chrissy and Kai met a few months back. They wanted a few shots together. We did a few studio shots and then went and walked through Greer a bit. A bit cold, but I don't think they noticed much. They really do seem to be into each other....

Jillian and Brad

Jillian and Brad met at Clemson University. She was from Chicago, he was from Easley. They dated and found themselves in Texas. Jillian planned out their entire wedding in the Greenville area remotely from Texas. They were married today in Easley SC. The beautiful service at First United Methodist Church in Easley began at 3pm. After the wedding, we drove to Greenville for the reception at Larkins on the River's, Wyche Pavilion. We had a warm but rainy evening.
Now, with his new job starting in January in France, the couple is off together forever as husband and wife.

And the video...

Pansy and Gary

Pansy and Gary were married today...

At Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC.

This was a first for me as a Wedding Photographer. The Groom helped finish the buttoning up of the bride's dress before the wedding.

Pansy and Gary, ready to tie the knot...

We caught one of the flower girls getting ready...

The Church choir performed right before the wedding.

The wedding done, time for the grand reception, and on to the honeymoon!

A beautiful wedding location.

Emmett actually created the cake topper out of Legos! Their cup-cake wedding cake was a hit.
The grand exit. We all were finding birdseed for days afterward.

Bridge Day, 2008 - Fayetteville, West Virginia

Bridge Day is the largest extreme sports event and the largest gathering of BASE jumpers in the world, held on the third Saturday in October every year in Fayetteville, West Virginia, USA. 450 BASE jumpers, hundreds of rappellers, and up to 200,000 spectators attended this year's Bridge Day on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The New River Gorge Bridge, 876' tall and the world's second longest single arch bridge, is the launch point for at least six hours (9am-3pm EDT) of legal, safe BASE jumps and REALLY LONG RAPPELS.

I had the rare opportunity to be under the bridge on the catwalk with the safety team. I was honored to be asked to photograph the safety team ops.The bridge is REALLY long. See here the ropes rigged and ready for the rappellers by the safety team.

My sister, (Berta), is on the safety team for the Rappellers. She also had the honor of raising the American flag to start the festivities.

Her husband was right behind her hauling up the West Virginia flag. The two of them climbed up their ropes 876' in about 15 minutes. Amazing.

You can see the rappell lines for the many teams that participate.

You look down and realize how far it really is. I was fine walking out onto beams to get the shot. But once you start looking through the camera, you really start to lose balance and have to recover.
Oh, and people jump off the bridge too...

A beautiful day photographing for the bridge day crew...
I loved it! Very different than photographing a wedding!
